Solutions to today’s natural resource issues may well come from a grassroots concern for nurturing our quality of life. The ENVIROTHON is a ready-made program available to help advisors teach environmental education. It affords a unique approach to teaching environmental education and it’s fun!
Tomorrow’s problems will be more challenging, but the solutions will be more apparent if students are encouraged to become environmentally aware, action-oriented adults. The competitive nature of the program motivates students to expand their knowledge of natural resources and realize their responsibility as stewards of our natural resources.
100% of your donation to the Delaware ENVIROTHON goes directly to cover the expenses of the program. Here are some examples of how your donations and sponsorships are used:
- Donations at the Silver Level ($50) help to cover the cost of a training workshop. (Note- a $5 recurring monthly donation would fully sponsor a workshop!)
- Donations at the Gold Level ($500) cover the cost of one scholarship. A scholarship is offered to each member of the winning team!
- Donations at the Platinum Level ($1,000) covers the average cost of for a team to participate in the Delaware Envirothon.
- Donations at the Diamond Level ($2,000) covers the average cost of a student to attend the North American NCF Envirothon. (This varies each year, depending on whether the competition is close to home or farther away.)
- Donations at every level help to cover the costs of preparation, awards, t-shirts, food, tent rentals, insurance, and travel expenses to sponsor the Delaware Envirothon and then send the winning team to travel to the North American competition.
